An Argentine federal court judge is investigating allegations of illicit enrichment against Cabinet Chief Minister Adorni. According to RTHK, the judge has ordered the lifting of tax and banking confidentiality for the company that allegedly financed Adorni's trip to Punta del Este, Uruguay, to determine if there was any illegal financial activity.
Local media previously reported that in February, Adorni and his family traveled to Punta del Este on a private flight. An Argentine congressman requested an investigation into Adorni's financial sources, citing discrepancies between the cost of the private flight and Adorni's declared income.
Additionally, on the 7th of this month, Adorni accompanied Argentine President Milei to the United States. Adorni's wife traveled on the presidential plane to New York and stayed in a luxury hotel, prompting criticism from Argentine media over potential misuse of state resources. Adorni responded by stating that due to changes in the itinerary, his wife was invited to travel on the presidential plane, incurring no additional public expenses. He also claimed that all expenses for the trip to Punta del Este were personally covered by him.
