Cybercriminals are increasingly using rented cloud-based Android phones, which cost between $0.10 and $0.50 per hour, to circumvent bank anti-fraud measures and deplete customer accounts. According to NS3.AI, these attacks continue to depend heavily on social engineering tactics. Malwarebytes researcher Pieter Arntz highlighted that these methods often involve soliciting one-time passwords, login approvals, or transfers to so-called 'safe accounts.'
