Lido introduced ValOS, a community-led framework designed to give node operators in the Ethereum staking ecosystem a unified operating standard and help them identify, assess, and reduce operational risks in running validator infrastructure. According to Foresight News, ValOS builds on the earlier DUCK initiative, which produced resources including a risk framework, a risk mitigation and control library, and a communications toolkit for node operators to use in risk assessment, incident response planning, and stakeholder communication.
ValOS adds a dedicated organizational and governance structure, with the goal of becoming a recognized standard that can support professional audits, assurance reviews, and industry benchmarks. To support adoption, Lido DAO will allocate $60,000 through its ecosystem grants program LEGO, or Lido Ecosystem Grants Organisation, to the D.U.C.K. Funding Launch for Audit Participants pool, known as DUCK FLAP. The funds will be used to launch initial assurance reviews and cover up to 50% of review costs for node operators that adopt the standard early.
