The hacker posed as a friend and the CEO of a project, leveraging previous interactions to gain trust. They invited the user to a meeting about project development via a Zoom link. The user, having experienced issues with Zoom previously, reinstalled the application as prompted, only to discover later that their wallet had been emptied. Security expert SlowMist noted that the hacker group involved has likely laundered the stolen funds, making recovery difficult. The user emphasized the importance of vigilance in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, highlighting that security risks extend beyond protocol codes to personal actions. They urged others to remain cautious about security issues, as DeFi offers both vast opportunities and significant risks.
