According to CoinDesk, several marketplaces offering Donald Trump-branded merchandise, such as GetTrumpWatches.com, GetTrumpFragrances.com, and GetTrumpSneakers.com, have begun accepting the Trump memecoin as a payment method. This new payment option is available alongside traditional methods like credit cards and bitcoin (BTC). The transactions will be processed through Solana Pay, a decentralized payment system that facilitates direct transactions between users and merchants without the need for intermediaries.
The merchandise, including watches, will be made-to-order and are expected to start shipping from October. These products are not sold directly by U.S. President Donald Trump but are part of a licensed agreement with CIC Digital LLC, a company involved in the issuance of TRUMP tokens. This development enhances the utility and usability of the TRUMP token, which was launched on January 17 and has quickly risen to become one of the top thirty tokens, boasting a market capitalization exceeding $5.5 billion as of Thursday.
These efforts represent another attempt to integrate cryptocurrency into mainstream commerce, a challenge that has proven difficult for many volatile tokens. By accepting the TRUMP token, these marketplaces aim to increase its adoption and demonstrate its viability as a payment method in the broader market.
