According to Odaily, Bitcoin mining company Genesis Digital Assets Limited (GDA) is expanding its operations in West Texas by adding 50 megawatts of power capacity to its mining sites in Pyote and Vernon. The expansion includes two new 20-megawatt buildings at the Pyote site, increasing its total capacity to 195 megawatts, and a 10-megawatt container facility at the Vernon site, bringing its total capacity to 70 megawatts. GDA's website indicates that the Pyote site can be expanded further to 370 megawatts. Currently, GDA operates over 600 megawatts of total power capacity across 20 data centers located in Texas, South Carolina, Sweden, and Argentina. The company's CEO, Abdumalik Mirakhmedov, stated that GDA is "one of the largest Bitcoin mining companies in terms of global computing power." Additionally, the company will participate in Texas's demand response program, which involves shutting down mining machines during peak electricity demand periods in exchange for compensation.
