According to Odaily, artificial intelligence company Anthropic is in discussions for a new round of venture capital funding, with an anticipated valuation of $300 billion. The company has also engaged California law firm Wilson Sonsini for advisory services regarding its planned initial public offering (IPO), targeting a 2026 listing. Analysts suggest that the IPO could provide Anthropic with substantial capital, enabling it to compete with Sam Altman's OpenAI. Research by Deutsche Bank analysts Adrian Cox and Stefan Abrudan indicates some vulnerabilities in OpenAI's operations, noting a slowdown in consumer subscription growth for its ChatGPT service. Anthropic is perceived as having a greater potential for profitability compared to OpenAI.
