Recent data from South Korean automotive research firm Carisyou reveals a significant drop in new car purchases among young adults in South Korea. According to Jin10, the registration rate for new cars among individuals in their 20s fell to its lowest in a decade, with only 61,962 vehicles registered in 2025, accounting for 5.6% of all new car registrations that year. This marks a continuous decline from 8.8% in 2016. Similarly, those in their 30s registered 209,749 new cars last year, representing 19% of the total, a decrease of 6.9 percentage points over the past decade, also reaching a ten-year low.
