According to official news, the programmable privacy network Aleo announced the establishment of the Aleo Foundation, which will help guide and support the network, focusing on open source governance, developer participation and promoting zero-knowledge encryption applications.
Aleo will also support innovative projects through the foundation’s initial allocation of 150 million tokens. The foundation, an independent non-profit 501c4 organization in Wyoming that will operate independently of the commercial entities developing Aleo, will appoint a board of directors in the coming months.
According to previous news on October 23, Aleo recently stated that it is in the final stages of launching its test network, and the main network is expected to be launched by the end of 2023. Once the mainnet goes live, Aleo Systems will relinquish all control of the Aleo network, which will operate independently of its founding company, similar to other decentralized systems such as Ethereum (which would continue to exist even without the Ethereum Foundation).
