February 2023 Crypto Thefts and Scams Total Over $9 Million
A massive theft of over $6 million occurred on February 15, followed by another significant loss of about $3 million on February 28. All 29 days of the month witnessed crypto thefts and scams.
Victims were mostly lured to phishing websites through impersonated Twitter accounts. Signatures like Permit and IncreaseAllowance contributed to the majority of thefts.
