Coinbase Expands to Singapore With USDC-Focused Business Platform for Startups and SMEs
Coinbase has launched Coinbase Business in Singapore, marking its first international expansion for the platform beyond the United States. The move underscores the exchange’s ambition to bring stablecoin-powered finance to startups and small enterprises across Asia.
Initially introduced in June 2025, Coinbase Business offers an “all-in-one crypto operating platform” that allows companies to send and receive USDC payments, manage digital assets, and automate financial workflows. By leveraging the stability of Coinbase-backed stablecoin USDC, the platform promises instant settlement, low fees, and zero chargebacks—key advantages for businesses navigating cross-border commerce.
“With the speed and reliability of digital dollars like USDC, we’re giving businesses seamless access to global payment rails.”
Coinbase is launching the service in partnership with Standard Chartered, its local banking partner in Singapore, to facilitate Singapore dollar transfers for both retail and business users.
The collaboration enables companies to access a full suite of tools, including crypto trading, global payouts, USDC rewards programs, and payment links that charge only a 1% transaction fee—positioning Coinbase Business as a cost-efficient alternative to traditional payment processors.
The Singapore rollout builds on Coinbase’s long-term engagement with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). In October 2023, the exchange received a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license, allowing it to provide digital payment token services to both individual and institutional clients.
Coinbase has also joined MAS’s BLOOM (Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency) initiative—a pilot program exploring cross-border settlement using tokenized bank liabilities and regulated stablecoins.
“Our partnership with MAS demonstrates our commitment to building compliant, transparent infrastructure for the next era of finance.”
With Singapore serving as a strategic launchpad, Coinbase Business aims to reshape digital payments across Asia, using USDC as a cornerstone for faster, cheaper, and more transparent transactions.
