China to Accelerate AI Adoption in Bidding Processes by 2026

China's National Development and Reform Commission, along with other departments, has released implementation guidelines to expedite the application of artificial intelligence in the bidding and tendering sector. According to PANews, the guidelines emphasize the use of AI technology throughout the transaction process and key management areas, adhering to principles of government guidance, multi-party participation, and security control. The initiative aims to enhance digital and intelligent service and regulatory levels. The objectives outlined include achieving full coverage of key scenarios such as bid document inspection, intelligent evaluation assistance, and collusion identification in certain provinces and cities by the end of 2026. By the end of 2027, the plan is to expand these applications nationwide, developing relevant experiences and practices to support the healthy and regulated growth of the bidding and tendering market.
