Anthropic is increasing its footprint in the U.S. capital in preparation for the upcoming midterm elections. According to BlockBeats, the company plans to triple the size of its policy team and establish a permanent office in Washington this spring to facilitate ongoing engagement with policymakers and think tanks.
Sarah Heck, the newly appointed head of public policy at Anthropic, emphasized the rapid pace of AI development, stating that it surpasses any historical technology advancements, and warned that the opportunity to establish appropriate policies is diminishing. Heck succeeds co-founder Jack Clark and will report to President and co-founder Daniela Amodei.
