According to PANews, Kristin Smith, CEO of the Blockchain Association, stated at the 2025 Digital Assets Summit in New York that U.S. lawmakers are expected to pass legislation for stablecoins and cryptocurrency market structure as early as August. Smith's timeline aligns with predictions from Bo Hines, Executive Director of the Presidential Digital Assets Advisory Committee, who expressed on March 18 that comprehensive stablecoin legislation could be seen in the coming months.
During the summit on March 18, U.S. Democratic Representative Ro Khanna voiced his belief that Congress should be able to pass the stablecoin and cryptocurrency market structure bill by 2025. Khanna noted that approximately 70 to 80 Democratic members view stablecoin legislation as crucial for expanding global dollar usage to enhance U.S. influence.
