According to a post by X user @JayBeiTian on July 10, all 250,000 U of his assets in the OKX web3 wallet were stolen! One of them is the native Okx Web3 wallet, and the other is the wallet imported from Unisat.
Only OKX wallet was stolen
The user stated that there are 4 wallets that he frequently uses, including Okx web3, unisat, Xverse, and MagicEden.
The only stolen wallets were the OKX web3 native wallet and the Unisat wallet imported into the Okx web3 wallet (manually imported using Apple's default input method on the iPhone okx app, without copying or pasting).
The remaining two Xverse wallets and Magiceden wallets that were not imported into the Okx web3 wallet are safe and have not been stolen.
Hackers monetize via OKX platform
After the hacker completed the crime, he sold all the assets through okx market orders and realized the assets.
The picture below shows the hacker selling NodeMonkes through the Okx trading platform at 4 a.m. on July 10.

OKX was caught in a storm of public opinion last month
OKX was once at the forefront of the limelight in June. Large-scale theft cases were frequently exposed within a month, which caused a great sense of distrust in OKX among the user community.
Not only that, after user assets were stolen, OKX actually spent 5.3 BTC on transaction fees, which seemed very abnormal.
Observers noticed the situation and raised alarms, sparking panic. Although the official responded quickly: "Thanks for the reminder, the team is testing an aggregation process and has stopped it."
However, according to the data, this "test" summarized all confirmed and pending OKX wallet collection operation data starting from block 846867, showing that the total handling fee during this period was as high as 254.28 BTC.
This suspicious behavior further deepened users’ suspicion of OKX, causing users to transfer funds from OKX.
OKX responded perfunctorily
After the user discovered the theft at 6 a.m. on July 10, he contacted okx as soon as possible and sent an email as required.
After a day of waiting, the reply from okx was that there was no problem with the platform and it was caused by the user’s mnemonic being leaked, but no convincing evidence was given.
OKX also stated that if it wants to take the next step, it can only go through judicial procedures.
OKX should look directly at the problem
What okx does in exchanges and web3 wallets has always been highly recognized by the industry, but in the recent past, there have been constant thefts. Big platforms should bear their due responsibilities. This is the pattern of a big platform.
The Bitcoin ecosystem is inseparable from the active construction of everyone involved. Users encounter this kind of tragedy, but in the end, there is no reasonable solution and the platform has no responsibility. Let users take responsibility, which will undoubtedly cause a large number of users to lose .
OKX has poor online reviews
A series of OKX problems that have been frequently exposed recently, as well as OKX's handling methods, have caused its reputation to plummet. User problems have not been solved at all. Victimized users can only expand their influence through online support.
The following are some comments about OKX from netizens and OKX users.
