Metaplanet CEO Highlights Shift in Economic Gains Due to AI

Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich recently expressed concerns on the X platform about the distribution of economic gains resulting from productivity booms. According to Odaily, Gerovich noted that these gains are predominantly benefiting the owners of computing and capital rather than workers or governments. He stated that companies holding cash or bonds are demanding from a system with a diminishing tax base, which is responding by printing more money, a trend that is accelerating. Gerovich further explained that AI agents lack bank accounts and brand loyalty, and as machines optimize financial systems, they bypass traditional banking and payment networks, opting for digital assets in transactions. When it comes to storing value, AI will prefer digital capital, particularly Bitcoin, over money market funds. As the AI-driven economy expands, digital assets could become the primary means of value storage in the machine era.
