Rob Thummel Highlights U.S. Oil Production's Role in Mitigating Fuel Price Surge Amid U.S.-Iran Tensions

Fuel prices have been tempered by the United States' position as the world's largest oil producer amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, according to Jin10. Rob Thummel, a portfolio manager at Tortoise Capital, emphasized the importance of the U.S. energy sector in his report. He noted that the U.S. contributes over 13 million barrels of crude oil daily to global supply, which has significantly reduced the potential spike in oil and gasoline prices during major geopolitical events like this. Thummel added that short-term gasoline prices might fluctuate with oil prices. West Texas Intermediate crude saw an 8% increase, reaching $72.40 per barrel.
