Nissan and Honda Sign Joint Development Agreement for Next-Gen SDV ECUs

Nissan Motor and Honda Motor have signed a joint development agreement to standardize multiple electronic control units (ECUs) that form the core of next-generation software-defined vehicles, along with key parts of the in-vehicle operating system, middleware and vehicle control software, according to Jiemian News. The companies said the E/E architecture built on the jointly developed ECUs and software is scheduled to be rolled out gradually from fiscal 2029 in each company’s next-generation SDV models.
