CME FedWatch puts the odds of a September hike at 66%, up from about 40% seven days earlier, after Chair Kevin Warsh used Jackson Hole to argue policy may not yet be restrictive enough to tame inflation.Warsh's specific claim was that he "would be hard pressed to describe broad financial conditions as restrictive," citing credit spreads near historical lows and bank lending standards on the easier end of their range. That removes the standard argument for waiting.Gold Fell Too, Which Complicates the Rotation StoryGold slipped to about $4,296 an ounce in a second straight session of losses.That removes the easy read that money is simply rotating out of risk and into hard assets. Through August, Bitcoin and gold rose together on the debasement trade while equities lagged — both up on the same fiscal and geopolitical risk premium.Now both are falling.
