SEC Chairman Announces Shift to On-Chain Financial Markets

According to ChainCatcher, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins announced on the X platform that the U.S. financial markets are set to transition to on-chain systems. This shift will prioritize innovation and the adoption of new technologies. The SEC has issued a no-action letter to the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTC), allowing DTC participants to directly transfer tokenized securities into registered wallets of other participants. These transactions will be officially recorded and tracked by the DTC, promising greater predictability, transparency, and efficiency for investors.
