UBS Investment Bank Increases Bonus Pool Amid Strong Performance

UBS Group's investment banking division is set to increase its bonus pool by up to 20% for certain departments by 2025, according to sources familiar with the matter. According to Jin10, the bonus allocations have already been communicated internally. UBS reported significant contributions from its investment banking segment to the group's overall profit of $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter. The division's operating profit grew by 34% last year, driven by market volatility following U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff measures in the second quarter. UBS Chief Financial Officer Todd Tuckner stated during a Wednesday analyst call that it was the strongest revenue performance in the history of the investment bank. Within the investment banking division, the bonus pool for the Asian global banking business is expected to increase by approximately 18%, according to insiders. However, some U.S. dealmakers reportedly underperformed last year.
