The increase in energy prices raises doubts about whether the Federal Reserve can proceed with the two interest rate cuts anticipated this year. Turner suggests that the oil price shock could reverse portfolio investment flows into emerging markets, further supporting the dollar. He predicts that the dollar index could rise to 100.00 this month. Currently, the dollar index has reached 99.221, marking a six-week high.
