Russian OTC Broker Allegedly Involved in Ransomware Money Laundering

Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT posted on X about Aleksandr (Aleks) Khinkis, a Russian over-the-counter (OTC) broker, who is reportedly involved in laundering over $4.7 million through a single cryptocurrency exchange account. Since July 2025, Khinkis is alleged to have facilitated the laundering of funds from three suspected ransom payments, totaling 796 BTC. The allegations highlight ongoing concerns about the use of cryptocurrency in illicit activities, particularly in relation to ransomware operations. Authorities are likely to investigate these claims further as part of broader efforts to combat cybercrime and money laundering in the digital currency space.
