Odaily Planet Daily News Manta Network Chinese community tweeted that Polygon Labs stated that zkSync used their code without declaring the source, but in fact, this code was originally created by Brandon at Manta Network.
According to previous reports, Polygon Zero issued an article stating that Matter Labs, the developer of zkSync, recently released a proof system called Boojum, which contains a large number of source codes copied and pasted from the performance-critical components of the Plonky2 library. Polygon Zero believes that copy-pasting source code without attribution and making misleading claims about original works violates the spirit of open source and damages the ecosystem.
Matter Labs has denied the allegations, saying a line at the top of one of the related documents is "clearly attributable." A Matter Labs spokesperson stated that Polygon’s article contained “untrue claims” that “the new Boojum high-performance proof system utilizes 5% of Plonky2,” which is clearly indicated in the first line of our module.
