Iran Has Started Licensing Crypto Miners Under New Regulatory Framework

According to Bitcoin.com, the Iranian government has begun issuing licenses to crypto miners under a new "comprehensive and detailed" regulatory framework approved last week, which requires two licenses before miners can start mining cryptocurrencies in Iran: and an operating license, where the establishment license establishes the entity as a legitimate crypto miner, while the operating license allows it to actually begin crypto mining. It is reported that Iran issued more than 1,000 crypto mining licenses under the previous regulatory framework, but stopped the process due to power consumption and illegal mining issues. Foresight News previously reported that Iranian police seized more than 9,000 cryptocurrency mining devices in the past five months.
