Odaily Planet Daily News Hedera posted on the X platform that during the launch of the V39 mainnet on July 11, a setting that controlled payment to 0.0.800 was misconfigured.
With the correct configuration, currently 90% of network fees are allocated to operations (account 0.0.98) and 10% to staking rewards (account 0.0.800), while from July 11th to September 15th, all fees Both are assigned to operations (account 0.0.98).
Hedera authorized an update and corrected this setting on September 15th. Now, the 10% transaction fee flows correctly to 0.0.800. During the above period, approximately 1.5 million HBAR were incorrectly allocated to account 0.0.98.
The primary goal of the Hedera staking system is to ensure the long-term security of the mainnet while nodes operate in a permissionless manner, so the Hedera Governance Committee does not directly fund the staking reward account, although others recently donated 60 million HBAR to the account.
