ZkSync Developers Anticipate Full Recovery Of Sepolia Testnet, Mainnet Upgrade Postponed

According to PANews, zkSync Developers have announced that the Sepolia testnet is expected to fully recover in the next few hours. The upgrade of the v24 mainnet will be postponed until later next week, allowing the team more time to assess the stability of the testnet. The exact release date will be provided once the team is confident in its stability. The developers noted that two issues had affected the testnet, both of which have now been resolved. Firstly, the eth_sender service, responsible for submitting transactions to the L1 zkSync smart contract, had stability issues, resulting in no L1 block submissions for about a day. This was caused by the gas market pricing on Sepolia being significantly different. Secondly, there were no proof submissions for more than two days, leading to withdrawal delays. This was due to logical differences between the in-circuit VM, used for generating proofs, and the out-of-circuit VM, a server-side VM that executes immediately when transactions are submitted. Previously, the zkSync Developers had reported that they were investigating an ongoing issue with the zkSync Sepolia testnet. During the investigation, the withdrawal of Sepolia funds from the zkSync Era Sepolia testnet was unavailable. This investigation and its results could potentially affect the v24 mainnet version scheduled for release next Monday. Around 3 a.m. yesterday, the zkSync Developers released an update stating that the investigation was still ongoing and would continue into the next day, with more updates to be released then.
