Jack Edward Finney, a British man convicted of selling deadly diet pills, had £15,000 (about $19,350) worth of Monero seized by the Cheshire Cyber Crime Investigation Team, which was then sold by the Food Standards Agency through an undisclosed "cryptocurrency trading platform" for pounds. Nearly three years have passed since Finney was sentenced.
This is allegedly the first time Monero has been sold for cash in the UK. The drug dealer was sentenced to 28 months and has now been forced to hand over £23,000 in assets or face an additional eight months in prison. (Decrypt)
