On December 17, local time, US President-elect Trump had obtained enough electoral votes in the Electoral College meetings of various states and officially won the presidency.
The Electoral College meeting is a key link in the US presidential election system. The president needs to obtain 270 of the 538 electoral votes to be elected. The final statistics show that Trump won 312 electoral votes.
Next, the results of the electoral votes of each state will be sent to Congress. Members of Congress will officially count the electoral votes at a joint meeting on January 6 and announce that Trump and Vance will be the next president and vice president respectively.
