Solana Pay, the protocol built on Solana's blockchain, has introduced a new integration with Shopify.
This integration allows users to conduct transactions using USD Coin (USDC) through Solana Pay's plug-in.
Solana Pay has made a strategic move by collaborating with Shopify to enable users to make payments in USD Coin (USDC) through its plug-in.
This integration empowers the ecommerce giant to link Solana-based crypto-wallets with merchants, facilitating seamless payment settlements on the blockchain using USDC.
Solana Means Reduced Transaction Fees
According to Patrick Hansen, the integration's positive aspect lies in its ability to significantly reduce the average transaction cost to a mere $0.00025.
This is in stark contrast to the fees ranging from 1.5% to 2.5% associated with credit card payments.
Solana Pay's presence on Shopify is aimed at delivering tangible benefits to merchants.
Josh Fried, the business development manager of the Solana Foundation, emphasized the significance of this integration.
He stated:
"Solana Pay on Shopify opens up millions of merchants to a more dynamic and efficient payment choice, while consumers get the convenience and increased utility of being able to pay for goods and services with digital dollar currencies from the vast network of merchants using Shopify."
Shopify customers can now seamlessly integrate the Solana Pay plug-in into their payment methods.
The process involves downloading the app and following a straightforward set of instructions.
This move is expected to enhance both merchant convenience and customer utility in the realm of digital payments.
