All parties have reportedly made thorough preparations for the negotiations. Zelensky emphasized the need to identify outcomes that would ensure genuine security guarantees and mentioned the organization of a leadership-level meeting.
The U.S. news website Axios reported that U.S. President Donald Trump and Zelensky had a 30-minute phone conversation on Wednesday. During the call, Zelensky expressed his hope for the Russia-Ukraine conflict to end within the year, while Trump indicated his desire for the war to conclude within a month.
