Venezuela's Acting President Rodriguez has expressed that diplomatic dialogue with the United States is the key to resolving differences between the two nations. According to RTHK, Rodriguez shared a letter addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump on social media on Saturday, reiterating Venezuela's willingness to establish a long-term relationship with Washington based on mutual respect, equality, and international law. The aim is to foster a cooperative agenda that benefits both countries.
Venezuela severed diplomatic ties with the United States in January 2019. In January of this year, the U.S. military launched an operation in Venezuela, forcibly taking control of President Maduro, which led to a series of changes in Venezuela, including Rodriguez assuming the role of acting president. Consequently, relations between the two countries have improved, and they recently announced the restoration of diplomatic relations.
