On March 9, renowned poker player and cryptocurrency trader Wesley shared on social media that his iPhone had alerted him to an 'unknown tracking device' nearby a few days ago, which he initially ignored. According to BlockBeats, upon inspecting his vehicle, Wesley found a device under the hood that appeared to be used for tracking and reported the incident to the police.
Wesley, who has been involved in poker and crypto trading for a long time, believes he might be a target for criminal activities. He advised industry peers not to disregard iPhone alerts about unknown tracking devices.
Following this, well-known on-chain investigator ZachXBT reached out to Wesley, offering assistance to escalate the report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Los Angeles office. Wesley expressed feeling somewhat frightened but appreciated the offer of help.
In his original post, Wesley also urged those in the crypto industry to immediately check their surroundings if their phone alerts them to unknown tracking devices and to remain vigilant about security. The situation has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department.
