UK Government Trials Social Media Restrictions for Teenagers

The UK government announced on March 25 that it will initiate a pilot program to test measures restricting social media use among teenagers. According to Jin10, around 300 teenagers aged 13 to 17 will participate in a six-week trial. Participants will be divided into groups to experience different restrictions: a complete ban on social media use, a ban from 9 PM to 7 AM, or a limit of one hour of social media use per day. A control group will maintain unrestricted social media access. The trial aims to observe the impact of these measures on teenagers' sleep quality, academic performance, and family relationships.
