Vance Courts Jewish Republicans With Pro-Israel Message

According to Axios, Vice President JD Vance told the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas on Monday that Israel is "extremely important to America's national security" and condemned rising antisemitism as he sought to reassure Jewish Republicans wary of his views on Israel. In a closed-door, 30-minute Q&A with former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman, Vance said antisemitism is "corrosive to the soul," blamed some of the recent rise on immigration, and said Republicans should engage with right-of-center podcasters critical of Israel, including Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes. Axios said the appearance comes as Vance tries to repair ties with a skeptical GOP constituency ahead of an expected 2028 presidential bid. The article also said Vance has clashed with pro-Israel conservatives in recent months over the Iran war and U.S.-Iran diplomacy, and that he campaigned in Michigan earlier Monday while accusing progressive Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of being more sympathetic to an attacker of a synagogue than to Jewish victims.
