According to Foresight News, former Aave core member Marc Zeller expressed concerns about the dynamics between private companies and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Zeller emphasized that while private companies are expected to develop products, complications arise when they control the storefront and branding, leaving DAOs to maintain operations. He noted that a significant portion of founding talent and strategic developers are now working independently within the DAO ecosystem. This independence is crucial for Aave's ability to deliver consistently, manage risks effectively, and expand its market share across various cycles.
Zeller warned that if value structurally shifts from DAOs to private entities, it could result in the loss of key talent and weaken the ecosystem that contributes to Aave's success. He also addressed a common misconception that service providers are extracting value. On the contrary, he argued that service providers are closely aligned with token interests, and the cost of maintaining Aave DAO's professional execution is relatively low compared to the value they maintain and create.
