According to Odaily, Forbes reports that the early investment portfolio of SBF is being reevaluated by the market. Some believe that if he had not been imprisoned due to the FTX collapse, his venture capital investments could have theoretically increased his wealth by up to $100 billion.
Before the collapse of FTX, SBF had established an investment portfolio that included prominent companies such as Anthropic, SpaceX, Robinhood, and AI programming tool Cursor, which were considered forward-thinking.
Industry experts note that he had invested in key sectors before the AI boom. Notably, Cursor recently partnered with SpaceX, potentially reaching a valuation of $60 billion, while Anthropic's valuation is nearing $90 billion.
Rory O’Driscoll, a partner at Scale Venture Partners, stated that SBF had invested in several core AI companies before the emergence of ChatGPT, demonstrating a rare investment acumen.
However, this narrative of investment talent was ultimately altered by the FTX collapse. SBF is currently serving a 25-year sentence for misappropriating over $8 billion in customer funds.
At his peak, his personal wealth was approximately $24 billion, earning him a spot on the Forbes 400 list. Now, his venture capital skills and financial crime history make him one of the most controversial figures in crypto history.
