The Electoral College is a crucial component of the U.S. presidential election system, requiring a candidate to obtain at least 270 out of 538 electoral votes to win. The final tally revealed that Trump garnered 312 electoral votes. Following this, the results of the electoral votes from each state will be sent to Congress. Members of Congress are scheduled to convene in a joint session on January 6 to officially count the electoral votes and declare Trump and Vance as the next President and Vice President, respectively. Trump and Vance are set to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.
