Stablecoin Transactions Projected to Reach $33 Trillion by 2025

According to Foresight News, Bloomberg reports that stablecoin transaction volumes are expected to grow by 72% to reach $33 trillion by 2025, marking a historic high. Circle's USDC leads with a transaction volume of $18.3 trillion, followed by Tether's USDT at $13.3 trillion. Data indicates that stablecoin transactions in the fourth quarter of 2025 will reach $11 trillion. Despite USDT's current market capitalization of approximately $187 billion, which is significantly higher than USDC's $75 billion, USDC dominates in DeFi platforms and high-frequency trading flows. Analysts attribute the growth in transaction volumes to the U.S.'s pro-crypto policies and the Genius Act passed in July, which has encouraged institutions like Standard Chartered, Walmart, and Amazon to explore related business opportunities. Bloomberg also predicts that stablecoin payment flows could reach $56 trillion by 2030.
