South Korean police have reportedly lost 22 Bitcoin, valued at around $1.4 million, due to improper storage practices. According to NS3.AI, the Bitcoin were confiscated during a 2022 investigation into a suspected cryptocurrency exchange hack. However, instead of securing the assets in a police-controlled cold wallet as mandated by guidelines issued two months prior, they were stored in a third party's wallet. Authorities have since arrested two suspects linked to the disappearance, and investigations are ongoing.
