Solana's core development team, Anza, has launched the Constellation protocol, significantly reducing Solana's block cycle to 50 milliseconds. According to PANews, this advancement positions Solana as the fastest blockchain in terms of protocol-level economic rhythm. The Constellation protocol replaces the single leader model with a multi-concurrent proposer system. This change eliminates exclusive control over transaction inclusion and ordering, enforcing fairness at the protocol level without relying on trusted third parties or client modifications. The economic model for validators remains largely unchanged.
