The aircraft, carrying 272 passengers and 14 crew members, took off from São Paulo's airport and encountered a fault in its left engine. The plane safely returned and landed without any injuries reported.
Social media footage shows what is believed to be the affected aircraft, with flames visible on the left side during takeoff. Delta Airlines stated that the flight was originally bound for Atlanta, USA, and all passengers have been accommodated. The cause of the malfunction is currently under investigation.
