According to Foresight News, the Argentinian government, led by President Javier Milei, has decided to remove the cryptocurrency legalization proposal from a bill submitted to Congress. The removal was due to the cryptocurrency clause delaying the parliamentary process for the entire bill, prompting the government to withdraw this part and advance consensus issues. Previously, Javier Milei had suggested in the bill that cryptocurrencies should be taxed at a rate of only 5% to 15%, which is much lower than the taxes local cryptocurrency holders are required to pay.
