According to Foresight News, cryptocurrency market maker Wintermute is planning to expand its operations into the United States, including opening an office in New York and offering new products in the country. Wintermute, one of the largest liquidity providers in the digital asset market, already has offices in London and Singapore.
Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy stated that as part of the expansion strategy, the company intends to offer over-the-counter (OTC) products to U.S. clients and plans to increase its current team of 130 by approximately 5 to 10 people. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Wintermute recently raised funds in a financing round led by Tencent Holdings Ltd. Both Tencent and Wintermute have not commented on this funding round.
