DeFi Platform Credix Suffers $4.5 Million Loss in Security Breach

According to BlockBeats, the DeFi platform Credix experienced a security breach when its administrator account was attacked. This account held several critical permissions, including POOL_ADMIN, BRIDGE, ASSET_LISTING_ADMIN, EMERGENCY_ADMIN, and RISK_ADMIN. The attacker exploited the BRIDGE permission to steal or borrow assets from the platform's funds pool, resulting in an estimated loss of approximately $4.5 million. The breach also involved the minting of counterfeit acUSDC tokens, known as Credix Market Sonic USDC, which lack real asset backing.
