World's First Web AI Glasses
Up Network, an AI agent operating system, and DreamSmart, a smart hardware innovator, have unveiled the world's first Web3 AI glasses, aiming to transform human-machine interactions.
These lightweight, 44-gram glasses integrate AI algorithms, extended reality (XR) features, and Web3 incentives, positioning themselves as a catalyst for the "post-smartphone era.”
Powered by Google's Gemini, they offer an eight-hour battery life and introduce a groundbreaking model where users can earn tokenised rewards by sharing data.
According to Up Network co-founder Devansh Khatr, the glasses leverage "context-aware intelligence," enabling seamless internet navigation through voice commands:
“They can also pay for premium features from AI agents, like highly personalized experiences based on their local data.”
Unlike conventional smart eyewear, these AI-powered glasses ensure decentralised on-device processing, safeguarding user transactions and personal data from corporate access.
Up Network said in a statement:
“AI agent swarms eliminate the steep learning curve and complexities of Web3. By handling tasks collaboratively and intuitively, these agents enable anyone—even crypto newcomers—to interact with blockchain and AI using natural language.”
New AI Glasses Lets Users Earn When You Use AI
The AI agents embedded in these glasses are designed to streamline interactions with decentralised Web3 technologies, potentially ushering in a post-smartphone era, according to Khatri:
“These glasses are not just a device — they’re a gateway to the future of computing and decentralized technology, combining AI, XR and Web3 incentives into one powerful ecosystem.”
Equipped with AI-driven natural language processing, the glasses enable users to earn tokenised rewards by engaging with AI agents, sharing insights, and participating in Web3 activities.
To ensure privacy, all interactions are processed directly on-device, preventing external access to user data.
Set for release in the first quarter of 2025, the product's pricing and availability details are forthcoming.
A dedicated marketplace will allow data companies to purchase user datasets, while smart-device manufacturers can offer additional incentives to participants.
Using Google's Gemini
Powered by Google's Gemini foundational model, these AI-driven glasses aim to deliver real-time contextual intelligence while supporting compatibility with other advanced AI agents.
A guidewave optical display projects images directly onto the lenses, creating what DreamSmart describes as a "seamless extended reality (XR) experience.”
The company also claims the glasses offer up to eight hours of continuous use.
While no live demo or further details have been provided, the announcement arrives at a pivotal moment for the rapidly evolving AI wearables market, particularly in the smart glasses sector.
New AI Glasses Unavailable Now But Users Can Buy Available Smart Glasses
Up Network teased the new AI glasses back in mid-December 2024.
Interested buyers can pre-register on Up Network’s official site for a chance to purchase the Web3 AI glasses.
For those eager to experience smart eyewear now, DreamSmart offers two alternatives: the StarV Air, priced at $59.90, and the StarV View, available for $399.
The upcoming Web3-enabled glasses will join the StarV lineup once officially released.
Interest Rising in AI Agents
The announcement comes amidst surging interest in AI agents, driven by milestones like Luna, an AI on Virtuals Protocol that autonomously executed a blockchain transaction without human intervention.
Other companies are also tapping into the momentum—Web3 creator platform Oh recently secured $4.5 million to develop AI agents that generate "digital twins" for creators, some earning up to $10,000 monthly.
Up Network, founded in 2024 with a team of 15, and DreamSmart, established in 2023 with over 4,000 employees, are collaborating to make Web3 and extended reality more accessible.
Their partnership underscores the potential of integrating AI, XR, and Web3 into a single, privacy-focused platform.
With AI-driven cryptocurrencies gaining traction, industry experts predict a breakthrough year for this emerging space.
As the smart eyewear space grows increasingly competitive, could this innovation set a new standard for the industry?
