Pendle Included in Bloomberg Galaxy DEFI Index Amid Stock Market Tokenization Discussion

According to ChainCatcher, Pendle has been added to the Bloomberg Galaxy DEFI Index. In a recent article titled 'Adapt or Die,' Arthur Hayes discussed the efforts of traditional finance (TradFi) to maintain its dominance in the stock trading sector. Hayes predicts that U.S. stocks and all equities will eventually become tokenized, although the success of perpetual stock contracts does not depend on this tokenization. Currently, the daily trading volume of perpetual stock contracts has surpassed $100 million. As traders and market makers become more familiar with contract specifications, daily trading volumes are expected to reach billions of dollars. Perpetual stock contracts are anticipated to become a crucial tool for both institutional and retail investors to hedge risks over weekends. This development is likely to push major U.S. securities exchanges to transition to a 24/7 trading model. Hayes suggests that a promising entrepreneurial idea would be to create derivatives that allow retail investors to speculate on interest rates in new ways. The Pendle team is actively working on this, with their Boros protocol quickly gaining attention.
