Voyager Digital to Become Crypto Brokerage Partner of Women's National Soccer League

Crypto trading platform Voyager Digital has signed an agreement with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) to provide players with crypto education and financial support.

In a statement Tuesday, Voyager said it would become the league’s first cryptocurrency brokerage partner as part of a multi-year agreement. A "substantial portion" of the investment will fund the crypto accounts of rostered players, the trading platform said. The NWSL is expected to have 12 teams starting in 2022, so as many as 312 players could benefit from this partnership with Voyager

NWSL interim CEO Marla Messing said: "Voyager's investment in the league is particularly innovative because we have co-designed this partnership, including direct financial The revolutionary changes in education that are taking place."

As part of the deal with Voyager, each NWSL team will have a player serve as an ambassador, participate in educational events and create crypto-related content. The exchange said it will provide "key lessons and tools" designed to help players develop long-term financial growth opportunities after their sporting careers end.

As the field expands, many crypto companies and platforms have formed partnerships with sports organizations around the globe, and it seems to be becoming more lucrative to be a sponsor. Voyager is already a crypto broker and international partner of the Dallas Mavericks following a deal in October. Crypto derivatives exchange FTX also announced in June that it has become an official sponsor of Major League Baseball.

Founded in 2018, Voyager Digital currently offers trading of more than 60 digital assets on its mobile app, which also includes services such as liquidity mining. In October of this year, the platform announced a $75 million investment from Alameda Research, an encrypted quantitative trading company and liquidity provider.
