AI TRENDS | Google, Microsoft, and xAI Agree to U.S. Government AI Model Access

Google, Microsoft, and xAI, subsidiaries of Alphabet, have agreed to grant the U.S. government early access to their artificial intelligence models. According to Jin10, this initiative aims to assess the capabilities of these systems and enhance their security before public release. The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on Tuesday that, through these agreements, AI developers will collaborate with OpenAI and Anthropic PBC to allow the Department's AI Standards and Innovation Center to conduct pre-release reviews of their models. The agency noted that OpenAI and Anthropic have renegotiated their existing partnerships with the center to better align with the priorities outlined in U.S. President Donald Trump's AI action plan.
