Lizzo Says She Is 'Relieved' After Claims Against Production Company Are Dismissed

According to the BBC, US pop star Lizzo said she was relieved after a US district judge dismissed the remaining claims in a lawsuit against her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. District judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha ruled on Tuesday that former wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels had not shown conduct by company employees that would prove hostility toward women in the workplace or unequal treatment of men and women. Daniels had alleged degradation, forced physical labor, denial of medical care, sexual harassment and racial harassment while briefly working for the company in 2023. The judge also said the alleged conduct, while inappropriate and unprofessional, fell outside the protection of the ordinary tribulations of the workplace. He separately said injuries Daniels claimed after her foot was run over by a heavy clothes rack did not qualify as disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, said on Instagram that she would continue to fight every claim made against her and her company.
